Adrenal fatigue, the probable cause of your chronic health problems.
“Adrenal Gland fatigue is used to describe the adrenal glands’ loss of proper hormonal regulation in response to chronic physical and/or emotional stress” -Dr. Steven Zodkoy
The adrenal glands are two small glands that sit on top of the kidneys. Few physicians are aware of adrenal fatigue. It effects every person differently, so it’s not necessary to match all of the symptoms.
Adrenal gland fatigue common symptoms:
- Dizziness upon standing
- Eyes sensitive to light
- Musculoskeletal problems
- Stress related syndromes
- Blood sugar stress
- Low sex drive
- Seasonal Affective Disorder
- Digestive disturbances
- Migraine headaches
- Heart problems
- Thyroid problems
- Decreased immune system function
What do the adrenal glands do?
They are basically a back up system for your body. If something isn’t working right, or if you are under a great amount of stress, the adrenal glands secrete their hormones to help balance the body back out.
A few things that they help with are:
- Blood sugar control
- Sexual hormones
- Immune system balance
- Inflammation regulation
- Blood pressure control
- Nervous system balance
When the adrenal glands become overworked, they may not be able to function as well. It’s comparable to riding and caring for a horse. If you ride your horse and stop at times to let it rest, eat, and drink water, then the horse can continue on. On the other hand, when you don’t give your horse time to rest, eat, and drink water, it will give out and not be able to continue. This is what happens when we live with chronic stress, chronic health issues, and/or have been exposed to a big trauma in life.
Over the past fifteen years, I’ve treated many people that have been to many other doctors and practitioners, both in the conventional medical and natural health care fields. I estimate that about 80% of them needed two things addressed at once in their treatment plan: their main health complaint and adrenal gland fatigue. With these types of people, you can’t reach long- lasting relief from their health conditions if you don’t help the adrenal glands to recover.
Many natural practitioners and doctors look at the adrenal glands, and then give the patient a supplement to take. This only helps a small amount of patients. When an experienced Applied Kinesiologist assesses the adrenal glands, he/she can find out with diagnostic muscle testing if the patient needs nutritional supplements, structural corrections to the spine, arms, legs, and/or emotional release. Oftentimes, someone with chronic health issues, wether they are physiological, structural, and/or emotional in nature, needs a combination of all three to have the best results.
The best course of action to take to resolve adrenal fatigue is to work with an Applied Kinesiologist to correct physiological, structural, and emotional imbalances, to eat a healthy whole food based diet, to snack regularly during the day, and to adjust your lifestyle for true healing.
